For two years, I had the honor of working at the Centre for Information Technology (COI) as the lead designer on the creation of the new version of the Trusted Profile. This was a key project aimed at modernizing and streamlining one of the most important tools of digital public administration in Poland. This work was based on the solid foundations of the GOV Design System, created for the needs of the mObywatel application and other government products, which ensured the consistency and high visual quality of the project.
My Role and Responsibilities
From the very beginning, I was responsible for the comprehensive design process, working closely with interdisciplinary teams. My main responsibilities included:
- Defining the Product Strategy and Vision: In close cooperation with business analysts and product owners, I took an active part in shaping the structure and vision of the new version of the Trusted Profile. I ensured that every aspect of the project was aligned with the business goals and user needs.
- Designing Lo-Fi Mockups in Axure RP: Created fully functional Lo-Fi (low fidelity) mockups in Axure RP. These initial prototypes were crucial to quickly test and iterate on the basic functional assumptions, allowing for effective stakeholder feedback.
- Designing and Developing Hi-Fi Mockups in Figma: Then, based on the accepted frameworks, I designed and developed fully functional Hi-Fi (high fidelity) mockups in Figma. I took care of every visual and interaction detail, ensuring that the design adhered to GOV Design System standards and provided an intuitive user experience.
Impact and Results
Thanks to my design work, the delivered mockups were critical to the entire product lifecycle. They enabled both analysts and business owners to work with the product as if it were already a fully functional application. This significantly sped up the decision-making process and allowed for early detection of potential issues.
Moreover, detailed Hi-Fi mockups became an invaluable tool for the testing team. They allowed for precise checking of screens implemented by developers, ensuring that all functionalities were consistent with the state previously accepted by analysts. This minimized the risk of errors and ensured the high quality of the final product.
Summary
Designing the new version of Trusted Profile was a valuable experience for me, allowing me to apply and develop my skills in the area of UX/UI design in a complex public administration environment. My involvement in every stage of the project – from strategy to detailed prototyping – contributed to the creation of an intuitive and functional tool that will serve millions of Poles.
